About rPET & rHDPE

Crespac's recycled PET (rPET) is sourced from post-consumer recyclers throughout the Americas. PET, which stands for polyethylene terephthalate, is a clear and lightweight plastic belonging to the polyester family. It is typically called "polyester" when used for fibers and fabrics, and "PET" when used for bottles, jars, containers and packaging applications. Virtually all single-serving and 2-liter bottles of sodas and water sold in the U.S. are made from PET. PET is strong, shatterproof, and offers excellent part stiffness. PET is also a very inert material that is resistant to attack by micro-organisms, and does not react with food products. Best of all, PET is highly sustainable and it is the most recycled plastic in the United States and worldwide. You can learn more about PET resin at www.petresin.org.

Crespac's rHDPE (recycled HDPE) is sourced primarily from post-consumer recycled milk jugs and household cleaner bottles. HDPE stands for high density polyethylenes and it is the 2nd most recycled plastic in the world behind only PET. HDPE is characterized by it's outstanding chemical resistance, good impact resistance, low moisture absorption and relatively light weight. The combination of these properties makes HDPE a preferred material in many non-clear packaging applications and in high durability applications such as slip-sheets, pipes, fittings, crates, trays and pallets.
